    Join your CRTRA colleagues as we give back to the local San Diego Community. On Tuesday, July 25th we will be working with the Outreach Program to package 7,500 meals from 9:30am - 11:00am at the hotel. These meals will be donated to a local food bank and will help feed those in need.

    6:00pm – 9:00pm: Welcome Event: San Diego Wine & Culinary Center
    The San Diego Wine & Culinary Center is passionate about bringing together World Food and Wine! Join your friends from CRTRA and compete in one of two challenges: Iron Chef Appetizer Competition and Wine Blending Challenge.


    During the Iron Chef competition, participants are kept on their toes from the second the mystery ingredient is revealed, working together as a team to come up with their best signature hors d’ oeuvres to wow the judges. Each group will create appetizers for their own team to enjoy, as well as an additional plate to present each judge a sample of their dish. Winners will be chosen by the panel of judges based on a variety of factors such as Creativity, Teamwork, Organization, and Overall Taste and Presentation.

    During the Wine Blending Challenge you will discover the science behind wine making and marketing and then put your talents to the test to create your team’s signature blend. Three distinct red varietals are presented for tasting, each with its own unique characteristics. A wine expert describes each wine and its blending qualities and invites guests to use this knowledge to create their team’s own signature blend.

    After the challenges are complete, you will be treated to a fabulous array of food stations representing cuisines from around the world. This is a must attend event!

    This session will explore how organizations dealt with the new FLSA regulations that were proposed for implementation in 2016 and were interrupted by court injunction. Results from an Aon Hewitt Hot Topics Survey will be used to profile the responses of employers at large and the session will allow participants to share their decisions to proceed or not with compliance and the impacts of those decisions.
